ISLAMIC, Anatolia & al-Jazira (Post-Seljuk). Artuqids (Kayfa & Amid). Fakhr al-Din Qara Arslan, AH 543-570 / AD 1148-1174. Fals (Bronze, 24 mm, 3.28 g, 1 h). Nimbate bust of Christ facing, wearing tunic and pallium, holding book of Gospels in his left; around, traces of legend. Rev. Legend in Kufic naming the laqab of Fakhr al-Din Qara Arslan and his ancestors three generations back. Spengler & Sayles 1. Rare. The flan slightly wavy and with earthen deposits, otherwise, about very fine.
